NomNomZ Privacy Policy

NomNomZ (“the app”) is operated by Hyperforged Technologies LLC. This policy describes what data the app handles and why. The short version: we store what you give us so the app can work, we send shared content to a few service providers to identify the places it mentions, and we never sell your data or show you ads.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address and sign-in credentials, plus profile details you choose to add (display name, bio).
- Content you share into the app: links you share or import (for example Instagram posts, Google Maps links, or articles), and the places derived from them.
- Your saved places: the spots you save, and later notes or photos you attach to them.
We do not collect your contacts, precise background location, or advertising identifiers.
How shared links are processed
When you share a link into NomNomZ, we fetch its publicly available preview (such as a thumbnail image or page text) and use the following service providers to identify the place it refers to:
- Supabase: hosts our database and backend.
- Google Places API: matches place names to real-world establishments; search text derived from your links is sent to Google.
- Anthropic (Claude): analyzes public link previews (for example, reading a restaurant name off a video thumbnail) to extract place names.
These providers process the content of the links you share; they do not receive your account information.
Displaying Instagram content
When a place in your list came from an Instagram post, the app can display that post as an embed, so you can see the original alongside the place it led you to. Embeds are shown using Instagram’s official oEmbed service and are loaded directly from Instagram on your device.
Because the post loads from Instagram’s servers rather than ours, Meta may receive standard technical information as part of that request — including your device’s IP address, browser user agent, and which post was displayed — and may set cookies, in line with Meta’s own privacy policy. We do not send Meta your account information, your saved places, or any identifier linking the request to you. Embedded content is shown for viewing only; we do not extract or store the contents of Instagram posts.
How your data is used
Solely to provide the app: resolving shared links into places, keeping your saved spots in sync across your devices, and showing shared catalogs of places to other signed-in users of the app. We do not sell personal data, share it for advertising, or use it to train models.
Retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account exists. To delete your account and its data, contact us at the address below and we will remove it.
